I have been the School Librarian at Osceola High since 1997.  In addition to my duties here at school, I am an alumni member of the Florida Teens Read committee for the Florida Association of Media in Education (FAME) that chooses the books which become the high school Battle of the Books titles in Pinellas County.  I also review young adult books for School Library Journal and VOYA, both professional journals for librarians.  Before coming to OHS I taught Gifted at Pinellas Central Elementary, Largo Middle and Meadowlawn Middle.  I have also been a teacher and house counselor in Virginia at Foxcroft, an all-girls boarding school, where I taught Modern European History, American History and AP American History as a tutorial, and Ohio where I was a school and county level facilitator of Gifted Programs.

Biography:
Mr. Eagleson started his teaching career in Hillsborough County where he taught middle school physical education for 15 years. He received his Masters Degree in Physical Education in 1993 and taught at the University of Tampa as an Adjunct Professor in their Dept. of Exercise and Sport Science for one year. In the fall of 2006, Mr. Eagleson began teaching at Osceola High School.

Mr. Eagleson coached Cross Country at Eckerd College for 16 years, he coached middle school track for 2 years and he has coached high school and college baseball. Mr. Eagleson was a minor league baseball player in the Boston Red Sox organization in 1977 and he currently umpires high school baseball.

Mr. Eagleson is the Head Coach for Cross Country and the Head Coach for Girls Track at Osceola Fundamental High School.

Biography:
A Wisconsin native, Mrs. Herzhauser earned her Bachelor's degree at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in English and French education. She joined the faculty of Osceola Fundamental High School as part of the inaugural fundamental team. She has earned her Master's degree in Reading Education from the University of South Florida-St. Petersburg. Mrs. Herzhauser is a teacher consultant with the Tampa Bay Area Writing Project, a member site of the National Writing Project. She serves on the board as the coordinator for young authors programs. During the summer, she works as a facilitator for the Inventive, Creative Explorers (ICE) writing camps as part of the writing project.  She is a member of the National Council Teachers of English, the Florida Council of Teachers of English, the International Reading Association, the Florida Reading Council, and serves as the vice-president for the Pinellas Reading Council.

Biography: I am a honors graduate of the University of South Florida with a degree in Secondary Language Arts.  I have been teaching since 1984 and have been at Osceola High School since 1987.  I have been a yearbook adviser since 1984, and I am one of only a few who have been advising for that long in the state of Florida.  I am also the co-chairperson of the Language Arts Department.  My husband and I are involved in breed rescue, particularly greyhounds, great Pyrenees and shelties.  In my spare time I travel in the British Isles and Europe, work on my photography, read, and volunteer at Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

I majored in Nutritional Science and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in May of 1997. After college, I went to work for Walgreens in the pharmacy and then moved onto Raymond James to trade bonds and unit investment trusts. In the fall of 2004, however, I finally achieved my dream of being a teacher. I worked at Azalea Middle School for 3 years teaching 7th/8th grade math and Pre-Algebra. I have worked at Osceola Fundamental High School since 2006 and I'm really looking forward to another year. I currently teach Algebra I and the AVID elective.

I truly love teaching and have not regretted my decision to change careers at all.

Biography:
I was born in Yatesboro, Pennsylvania. I am of Italian heritage. I hold an A.A. from Butler County Community College. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree at Slippery Rock University of PA. I graduated from USF with a Masters Degree in Behavioral Disorders. I hold three teaching certificates. K-12th grade Emotionally Handicapped, 1-6th grade Social Studies, and 1-5th  grade  Elementary School. I have been at Osceola  High School since 2006. I have been teaching since 1988. I taught emotionally handicapped children in elementary school for 13 years. I taught regular 5th grade for four years, and this is my 6th year in high school.  I am close to completing the requirements for a Educational Leadership Degree.

I have two cocker spaniels. Snoopie is three and Annie is two. They are spoiled rotten. I have koi and orchids. I enjoy traveling, reading, and cooking. I love Star Trek and sci-fi, police shows, educational channels, and cooking channels. I spent two months studying in India. I love teaching at Osceola High School. World History is my forte. I was Wal-Mart teacher of the year in 2002. I try to make teaching fun for my students.  I am looking forward to retiring and traveling around the world.

Biography: I have been teaching at Osceola since 2003 and am certified in Biology 6-12.  I have a BS in Biology with an emphasis in marine biology and minors in chemistry and geology.  In 1998, I received my MS in Science Education with an emphasis in biology.  Currently, I am the head volleyball coach and also an assistant track coach. Even with all that going on, I still find time to participate in singing competitions, kickboxing and bowling.

Biography:
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders/Linguistics and a Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology, both from the University of Massachusetts, at Amherst. I have a  National Board Certificate issued  by the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association (CCC) and I have a License to practice Speech/Language Therapy in private practice, issued by the Florida Department of Health. I was raised on Cape Cod, Massachusetts and moved to Florida in 1993. I have a 17 year old daughter who attends the Early College Program at SPC, completing her junior and senior year and earning her AA simultaneously. She is doing this via Seminole High School.

Biography:
I have been head plant operator at Osceola High School since 2004. Previously I worked at Osceola Middle School, Gibbs High School, High Point Elementary, Orange Grove Elementary, Southern Oak Elementary and PTEC -North and South. Osceola High is by far the best facility I’ve worked in all my 28+ years with the Pinellas County school system. I have the best job because I get to fix things and solve problems which I love to do. OFHS Freshman selected as finalist in Largo Library Short Story Compeition!

Brenna Garcia received an Honorable Mention certificate and fifty dollars for her story “On a Chilled Winter’s Day.”   It was one of eighteen stories chosen from among over 300 submitted from middle and high schools all over Pinellas County.

OFHS students visited the John and Mabel Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota.  They also toured the art conservation lab and the Ringlings’ art library.  Students from Mr. Stewart’s Literature the Arts and AP Art History classes had studied the art in the museum and were docents for the other students on the trip.  In the evening the students saw Clybourne Park, a play based on Lorraine Hansberry’s classic A Raisin in the Sun, which many of the students had read.
